TML and Billettique Services announced as winners of the 2025 Calypso Awards

Global community of transport ticketing players recognises the achievements of its member community in designing and delivering agile, superior and technically excellent solutions

Calypso Networks Association (CNA), the global community of ticketing players, has announced the winners of its 2025 Calypso Awards: Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML) won the award for “Best Customer Value”, while “Best Innovation” was awarded to Billettique Services.

“The annual Calypso Awards shine a spotlight on the phenomenal work of our members in delivering innovative transport ticketing projects and use cases that have been made possible through Calypso open standards,” commented Gianluca Cuzzolin, CNA Chairman. “These winners demonstrate the importance of creating reliable, convenient, secure and interoperable ticketing experiences that put the passenger first. Their creative solutions have been designed specifically to meet the needs of the citizens they serve; a testament to the agility and technical capability of open standards developed by the ticketing community, for the ticketing community. The Best Customer Value award recognises users of Calypso who provide customers with an innovative service that enables easier access to public transport or access control.  TML was awarded this prize for its Navegante® Empresas product; an innovative solution that simplifies access to public transport passes for commuters and families directly via an app. It also leverages corporate tax incentives of up to 150% to encourage businesses to subsidise mobility for employees. In doing so, TML is making affordable, sustainable travel a more convenient option for the people of Lisbon.

Billettique Services received the Best Innovation award for its integration of the open source SDK, Eclipse Keyple, into terminals. This prize rewards providers who have developed and set up a new Calypso product, component, software or process that enriches the Calypso offer and contributes to the worldwide development of the standard. Billettique Services exemplified this requirement by using Keyple to simplify and streamline ticketing integration, which helped significantly mitigate the time investment and financial costs associated with system maintenance. These savings were then passed on to passengers, lowering the overall cost of travel.
