Calypso Networks Association (CNA), the global community of ticketing players, has announced the results of its latest Board election, which sees the appointment of four new Vice-Chairpersons, as well as the successful re-election of its Chairman and General Secretary.
Gianluca Cuzzolin from AVM has been re-elected as Chairman of the association following a vote at the not-for-profit’s annual General Assembly in Paris. He has been chosen by the Board members to continue leading the open standards ticketing community, as it works to further evolve the contactless ticketing ecosystem. Additionally, Alexandre Domingues from TML, Alain Caffart from CTS, Edgar Bruno da Costa from ENBI, and Jim Van den Rijse from BMC have been elected as Vice-Chairpersons. Zeno Danner of Landkreis Konstanz will continue in his role as General Secretary, and Erik Baele as Treasurer.
In addition to its Board of Directors, CNA also operates an Advisory Board of adhering members, representing providers of Calypso-based ticketing solutions or consultants supporting transit networks implementing Calypso. Three new delegates have been elected to this group – Florent Cetier of Digimobee, Tahmina Amin-Nawabi of Famoco, and David Mitel of IDEMIA.
“It is my honour to welcome our new Vice Chairs and new Advisory Board members, who will work together to continue advancing the Calypso Open Standard during a period of rapid change,” said Gianluca Cuzzolin, Chairman of CNA. “It is thirty years since Calypso first launched, and as the world of artificial intelligence accelerates, its security, reliability and ease of use is as important today as it has ever been.
“I would like to express my personal gratitude for our outgoing Board members – Serena Lancione (ASSTRA), Paolo Fiorino (ATM), Gora Sarr (CETUD), Carlos Arturo Gonzalez Gordillo (SEMOVI) – as well as those from the Advisory Board, Christian Senly (CUBIC), Maria Fernanda Ramirez (Thales), and Louis Brosse (Wizway Solutions). Their senior leadership has played a huge role in the evolution of the Calypso specifications and of the wider CNA community during their tenure. CNA will continue to play an integral role in the years ahead, empowering networks worldwide to control costs, innovate sustainability, and deliver a superior user experience.”
The CNA Board of Directors is appointed by the General Assembly every three years and is currently comprised of 17 representatives based around the world. This leadership team represents the ticketing community with a balance between transit operators, authorities, and providers. It is supported by the Advisory Board of adhering members, who participate in joint sessions with the Board of Directors twice per year, focusing on ticketing technology integration, CNA’s market vision, and assessing the commercial viability of the latest Calypso-based ticketing innovations across mobility, EV charging and access control.
